Rashford refusing to give up on Barca dream despite Nico chase

Marcus Rashford is reportedly refusing to give up hope of joining Barcelona this summer despite the fact the Catalans have now made Nico Williams their top transfer target.

The forward is currently training in Marbella as he figures out his next move. His loan at Aston Villa is finished but he’s still not in Manchester United’s plans for the future.

Mundo Deportivo report that Rashford remains “confident in a move from the Barça sporting management” in the coming weeks.

The forward thinks that his versatility will be useful as he can play anywhere across the front three and could also be a back-up to Robert Lewandowski.

He’s apparently “so convinced that he’s told Barca” about his qualities and “assured them he’ll make every financial effort” needed to join the Catalan club this summer.

Barcelona have already signed Joan Garcia this summer and hope to bring in Nico by activating the release clause in his contract.

Work will then be needed to do to free up space on the wage bill to register both players, making it difficult to see the club also going for Rashford.
