Adidas has shared a social media message with Florian Wirtz after the German’s move to Liverpool was confirmed.

After weeks of speculation and constant updates, the 22-year-old was officially announced as a Liverpool player on Friday.

Wirtz put pen to paper on a long-term contract with the Reds after agreeing on personal terms and successfully passing a medical.

The German becomes the latest addition to Arne Slot’s squad so far this summer, reuniting with former Leverkusen teammate Jeremie Frimpong.

Wirtz’s move to Liverpool will reportedly cost the club around £116m. If all add-ons are achieved, it would make him the most expensive signing in the club’s history and break the British transfer record.

Speaking after signing the deal, the German said:

“I’m really excited to have a new adventure in front of me. This was also a big point of my thoughts: that I want to have something completely new, to go out of the Bundesliga and to join the Premier League.

“I will see how I can perform there. I hope I can do my best. I also spoke with some players who played there, and they told me that it’s perfect for me, and every pitch is perfect, you can enjoy every game. I’m really looking forward to playing my first game.”

Liverpool’s next official kit sponsor, Adidas, posted a message on social media celebrating the German midfielder’s move to Anfield.

Adidas posted a picture of Wirtz holding a checkered red flag with the inscription “The Wirtz Kept Secret,” followed by the caption ‘sound,” and three emojis.
