(Video): Red card given to striker who may be Chelsea’s most stupid ever player

You can’t make it up.

Nicolas Jackson had a very tough season – after a bright start he had a long goal drought, then an injury, then when we needed him most he got a red card in a crucial game, and almost cost us our place in the Champions League.

Luckily his team bailed him out. But in just his second start since that game against Newcastle where he saw red for a forearm smash, he’s gone and got another red – this time just a few short minutes after coming on.

Jackson’s insane decision costs Chelsea the chance of a comeback

The forearm smash which saw Nicolas Jackson sent off.

It was just an insane decision from the Senegal star. He went in over the top of the ball in an area where there was no danger.

Just as in the Newcastle game, it came with his team behind in the game, when they need every man they can get. We’ve seen some pretty dim players come through the doors at Stamford Bridge over the years – Jackson may just take the biscuit.

Jackson has used up all the patience of most fans

Sorry but we’ve just had enough. For all of his many qualities, he’s now almost into his third season and he shows no danger of developing a second brain-cell when he’s out on the pitch.

The first year you get for free – you’re young and raw and new to the league. The second season is where it starts to get worrying.

Thank god we now have Liam Delap in the squad to play instead of him. He now gets an extended run at this tournament while Jackson is banned, and can potentially cement his status as first choice. Not many fans would argue with that, after two years of rising Jackson frustration.
