Leeds United stance on Aston Villa transfer revealed – as Emi Buendia link to Daniel Farke…

Leeds United boss Daniel Farke has made it no secret that he wanted an attacking midfielder last summer. The club failed to sign one during that window.

Farke then decided on Brenden Aaronson to fulfil that role during the campaign. The American ended last season with nine goals and two assists in the Championship. But that form still has not convinced fans if the attackin midfielder is suited for the Premier League.

Nine league goals is his highest ever tally in his senior career. Former Leeds star Danny Mills has also had reservations over Aaronson’s quality heading into the Premier League.

As revealed earlier this week, the main plan for the Whites is to sign a new number 10. The major targets for this role are currently Gus Hamer and Emi Buendia.

No decision has been made on who Leeds will sign, but the club have a plan in place when it comes to approaching Aston Villa over a deal:

“What we’re seeing in the no.10 role is that Leeds are able to be picky. There’s no need to jump in with both feet on a Hamer or a Buendia.

“…If Villa do have PSR problems, you don’t deal with Villa now – you wait towards the end of the window.”

Buendia’s last season under Daniel Farke

Though a decision has not been made, Daniel Farke’s working relationship with Buendia could play a key role. The Argentine midfielder starred under the current Leeds United boss, and still maintains that Farke has been an influence on his career:

“One of the most important coaches in my career. He gave me the chance to join the club, of course.

“For me, the most important thing he gave me as a player, he gave me the confidence to be myself, to enjoy, to feel free on the pitch.”

Buendia’s final season under Daniel Farke saw him get 15 goals and 16 assists before earning himself a Premier League move. Imagine what a reunion would do in this current Leeds United team. If the Argentine is fit, and the fee is good, this deal should be a no brainer.
