Chelsea were left shellshocked and red-faced as they imploded in the second half to give Flamengo a 3-1 win in the Club World Cup.

Flamengo mounted a quickfire comeback mid-way through the second period before Nicolas Jackson was dismissed for a rash stamp on Ayrton - just minutes after coming on.

Pedro Neto had opened the scoring after 11 minutes in a bright start for Enzo Maresca's men while Liam Delap also went close on his first start after signing from Ipswich for £30million.

But in front of 54,000 fans, Flamengo had other ideas. Bruno Henrique poked the Brazilian giants ahead at the back post after 62 minutes and three later, Danilo gave them a shock lead.

Chelsea kept their foot on the gas but were unable to find the net in the heat of Philadelphia and Wallace Yan made sure of Flamengo's win late on from close range - the sort of impact off the bench Jackson would have wanted to make.

Managed by former Chelsea star Filipe Luis, Flamengo held on for their second win of the tournament to qualify for the last 16.

After a comfortable 2-0 win over LAFC in the opening game, Chelsea are still primed to escape from their group but have left the door open to jeopardy ahead of their clash with Tunisian champions ES Tunis.
