Leeds United had one of their best transfer windows in recent history back in 2020. The club managed to recruit key players that played a big part in their Premier League survival that season.
The transfers that arrived at Elland Road were not that of a typical newly promoted club. Leeds signed the likes of Rodrigo Moreno, Raphinha, Robin Kock and Diego Llorente from top clubs among Europe’s top leagues. That quality ultimately paid off, as the club finished comfortably in the top half on their return to the top flight.

Leeds have already made one big signing; Lukas Nmecha arrived at Elland Road on a free transfer from Wolfsburg.
Nmecha revealed that playing in the Premier League was one of the main reasons for his return to England. The former Manchester City academy star played most of his early football in the country.
“Definitely,” he said to LUTV.
Nmecha also added that England is a place many players would like to play, hinting at the potential arrivals this summer.
“I live an hour and a half away from here so it’s nice just to be back home. This is where I feel nice with my family and England is just a place where everyone wants to play.”
The forward then spoke on how he felt about the current project after conversations with Daniel Farke.
“It’s just a great challenge,” said Nmecha.
“I am really excited to get to know the team. I have spoken with the manager many times and I am excited to play that style of football that they played in the Championship, even in the Prem.”
The Whites are targeting high level additions
Nmecha is not the only target from a top European club. If reports are to be believed, deals for Udinese’s Jaka Bijol and Strasbourg’s Habib Diarra will follow.

It seems clear that the club is targeting players with experience at the highest level that can contribute to the team right now. The others players linked with a move are also at top clubs. Hopefully Leeds can stack their team with quality ahead of next season.
