Indiana Pacers star Tyrese Haliburton told ESPN’s Ramona Shelburne that he deleted all his social media apps after Game 1 of the NBA Finals. But he revealed to Shelburne that he does occasionally check the apps for one hilarious reason.
Haliburton told Shelburne that he uses social media to catch up on news about the WWE. The 25-year-old is a diehard pro wrestling fan and even appeared on an episode of “WWE SmackDown” in an angle with New York Knicks star Jalen Brunson.
Tyrese Haliburton says he’s deleted all social media apps off his phone since his last post on June 6 (after Game 1) tho he admitted occasionally he has logged on to catch up on WWE news.

Pacers Star Tyrese Haliburton Has Been A Diehard WWE Fan Since He A Young Kid
“When I was a kid, he used to come to my house and we always watched it together,” Haliburton said of his uncle Gary, who first got him into pro wrestling. “Every time I watch, I think about my uncle Gary. He knew my mom would pay for the pay-per-views. They used to be pay-per-views, now they’re PLEs. My mom would pay for it if I cried hard enough for it. It’s a memory I have with him and my dad always took me to it whenever they came to Wisconsin. Every WWE event, I always take my dad (John) so I’m looking forward to it tonight.”
Haliburton is such a big pro wrestling fan that he (and Brunson) are playable characters in the WWE 2K25 video game. These days, Haliburton’s attention is firmly focused on the NBA Finals and the upcoming winner-take-all Game 7 against the Thunder. But apparently, one thing has the power to pull his attention away from such a big occasion. It’s just hilarious that that one thing is the WWE.
