TMZ scared everyone with their Myles Garrett headline

TMZ Sports left many fans freaked out on Friday due to the headline they used for a story about Myles Garrett.

Garrett is dating snowboarder Chloe Kim, and the two partook in a race. Kim shared a video on her Instagram Story Thursday that showed her lined up on an artificial turf field inside an indoor training facility. Garrett, who is a star defensive end for the Cleveland Browns, was running backwards. Kim was running forwards, and Garrett still defeated her in the race.

“99% sure I would’ve won if I wasn’t wearing jeans,” Kim wrote as her caption.

Want to guess what TMZ’s headline for the video was?

“Myles Garrett Beats Girlfriend Chloe Kim In Cute Race.”

Of course, the thought that Myles Garrett had beat his girlfriend Chloe Kim made fans alarmed and concerned. It wasn’t until they read the rest of it and saw “in cute race” that they relaxed.

Fans were all over TMZ for the headline.

The content itself didn't matter. 'Myles Garrett wins cute race against girlfriend Chloe Kim' was more than fine. TMZ used 'beats girlfriend' instead for a cheap pop. Ambiguous enough to pretend they never mean it THAT way so it's our fault for bringing it up. So lame. 🤦🏻‍♂️ https://t.co/l9Xp7wJBlN

What’s wrong with writing Myles Garrett and Girlfriend Chloe Kim Compete In Cute Race?

wow what absolutely insane wording

TMZ wrote a felony and added “just kidding” at the end.

That headline was not an accident. It produced the online engagement that was desired.

Garrett and Kim went public about their relationship last month. That matter was somewhat controversial since Garrett missed the Browns’ OTAs to be in Japan with Kim.
