Wright-Phillips Claims Liverpool Will Be“Almost Impossible To Stop”Next Season If One Thing Happens

Former Manchester City and Chelsea winger Shaun Wright-Phillips says Liverpool will be hard to stop next season if Mo Salah remains in top form.

The Egyptian scored 29 league goals and provided 18 assists in 2024/25 and, when asked by Prime Casino if Arne Slot’s side will find things harder next campaign, Wright-Phillips replied:

“Next year, everything is just going to be so much harder for Liverpool – but everyone else too. Manchester City are going to be desperate to avoid making the same mistakes they did last season, they will not be complacent.”

“Arsenal are going to give it that extra push after coming close three seasons in a row, and then you’ve got the other sides who’ll all be stepping it up.”

“If Mo Salah does what he did last season, then it’ll be almost impossible to stop him and Liverpool, because he was scoring from almost every chance that dropped in front of him. He only needs a glimmer of a chance to change the game, just as he did against Everton. If he’s at his best, then Liverpool are going to be hard to stop.”

Salah has been nominated for the PFA Player of the Year

The 33-year-old has already won the Football Writers Association Footballer of the Year and the Premier League’s Player of the Season for his exploits, but his fellow players have now also backed him for an award.

The PFA have announced Salah as a nominee for the Player of the Year. He will be going up against his teammate Alexis Mac Allister, Arsenal’s Declan Rice, Chelsea’s Cole Palmer and Manchester United’s Bruno Fernandes.

Liverpool are favourites to retain their Premier League crown

Bookmakers have backed the Reds to finish top of the table again next season, with odds of between 15/8 and 2/1.

Arsenal and Manchester City are regarded as joint second favourites with prices ranging between 9/4 and 5/2.
