Chelsea fans can breathe a huge sigh of relief as Bayern Munich are not actively looking to sign their right-back Malo Gusto.
The 22-year-old right-back joined Chelsea in the January window of 2024 and has made 80 appearances for the Blues in all competitions.
He produced some strong displays since moving to Stamford Bridge, and it came as a bit of a shock that Chelsea are willing to offload him amid interest from Bayern Munich.
Malo Gusto – What’s the latest scenario?

According to journalist Simon Phillips, Bayern have made an approach to sign Gusto.
He claimed that the Bundesliga champions made contact with the Blues over a potential move for the former Lyon right-back.
There is a chance that Gusto could drop down the pecking order if Reece James stays fit, and Chelsea are willing to listen to offers.
Now, Bayern do not need a new right-back. They already have Konrad Laimer, Josip Stanisic and Sacha Boey on their ranks.
Boey impressed heavily in Bayern’s opening game against Auckland City, but he was not used against Boca Juniors. Laimer started ahead of him.
In such a scenario, signing another right-back when the priority lies elsewhere makes little sense. Christian Falk told CFBayern Insider that Bayern are not actively trying to sign Gusto at the moment, but the situation with Sacha Boey remains open.
The Bavarian club have three right-backs, and it’s a luxury situation to be in. They cannot afford to keep three players in the same position.
Will Sacha Boey leave Bayern Munich?
Bayern paid a big money to sign Boey from Galatasaray one and a half years ago, but he has failed to live up to the expectations.
Sky Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg claimed in April that Galatasaray are closely monitoring Boey’s future.
According to a recent report from Kicker (h/t @iMiaSanMia), Kompany and his coaching staff want Boey to stay at the club, and they are in favour of keeping him.
If Boey stays at the club beyond the summer, there is no chance of signing another right-back, but the situation could change if he moves on.
