Report: Jadon Sancho makes key decision over Manchester United exit, willing to make sacrifices

Manchester United have been trying to permanently sell Jadon Sancho for the past 12 months, and finally, a deal is moving in the right direction.

Ineos will be incredibly keen on seeing the back of Jadon Sancho this summer.

Last summer, when he was signed on a loan with an obligation to buy by Chelsea.

However, after an underwhelming campaign, which ended with a Conference League final goal, Chelsea opted to avoid the £25m obligation, paying a £5m penalty fee instead.

This spoke volumes as to how poor Sancho was throughout the campaign, after celebrating his move to Chelsea last summer as though it were permanent.

Due to this, no Manchester United fan would want to see Sancho back in a red shirt, and he has therefore been searching for a new club over the past few weeks. Now, with several options, he has made a decision.

Jadon Sancho willing to take pay cut to join Napoli

Despite currently being a United player, Ruben Amorim has no intention of using Sancho and plans to remove him from any pre-season tour squad.

So with the race to find a new club on, there is finally good news for United in regards to selling Sancho.

It has been reported by Gianluca Di Marzio that both Juventus and Napoli are very serious about Sancho this summer. Juventus approached for Sancho on Friday, but it is thought that he prefers a move to Scudetto holders Napoli.

This followed a report from Italian journalist Mirko Di Natale, who explained that Sancho is actually prepared to reduce his salary in order to return to playing football, and Napoli have agreed on personal terms with the winger.

If Sancho has agreed to reduce his personal demands, then a sale should be relatively easy, considering the interest levels in his services.

How much Sancho sale will save Manchester United

Sancho is probably the player United needed to sell most this summer, alongside Marcus Rashford, who remains dedicated to a Barcelona move that looks far from happening.

By cutting all ties, United will save a huge chunk of money, with Sancho being paid £250k-a-week, which dropped to £150k-a-week last season.

Sancho’s contract expires in 2026, which means he has roughly £10.1m left on his deal, which, if written off, would be a significant saving for Ineos and thrown on top of the £21m fee would be a healthy amount earned or freed up by selling Sancho.

However, Sancho’s exit has been close before, so we won’t believe it until we see it.
