Marcus Rashford is preparing for the 2025/26 season despite not knowing where he will be playing his football.
After falling out with Ruben Amorim shortly after he became Manchester United’s head coach, Marcus Rashford has been trying to find a way out of Old Trafford.
It may be Rashford’s boyhood club, but the England international is set to leave after enjoying a short spell on loan at Aston Villa.
Villa rejected the option to sign Rashford for £40m at the end of the season, even though he impressed Unai Emery during his time at the club.
However, there was no guarantee that Rashford was ever open to joining Villa on a permanent deal.
Reports stress that Rashford dreams of joining Barcelona ahead of the 2025/26 campaign. They’ve yet to make a formal offer for the forward, who remains one of United’s highest earners, weighing heavily on Ineos’ wage bill.

Marcus Rashford summer plans revealed
Unfortunately for Rashford, his 2024/25 season ended prematurely due to injury.
That means Rashford has been working on his recovery during his holidays to be in the best shape possible for the new season.

Only time will tell if that works by appealing to any suitor in the market for a left forward.
According to ESPN, Rashford is planning to return to training with Manchester United next month if a deal to leave Old Trafford has not been agreed.
United are listening to offers for several players, including Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho.
There has been reported interest from Barcelona, Inter Milan, Juventus and Bayern Munich, as well as several Premier League clubs.
None of that means much until a firm bid is made because Rashford is under contract at United until 2028. He is due to report back to Carrington for pre-season training in July like the rest of the players.
Perhaps it will give Rashford a chance to work on his relationship with Amorim.
Ruben Amorim undecided about pre-season
It was recently reported that Amorim would axe four United players from the pre-season tour.
Those include Rashford, Garnacho, Antony and Jadon Sancho – all players who had spells out on loan last season.
However, those claims appear to be premature.
ESPN adds that Amorim has not decided whether the quartet will be part of the squad for the summer tour of the United States.
United will be travelling to several cities such as Chicago, New York and Atlanta.
Sources told the publication that it’s “too early” to make firm calls on his travelling party. In other words, anything can happen between now and then.
