Not Sesko or Gyokeres: Arsenal agree personal terms to sign ‘mind-blowing’ forward after Arteta …

Arsenal have reached an agreement with Bilal El Khannouss’ agents ahead of a potential summer transfer, according to AfricaFoot.

The 2024/25 season was another strong campaign for Arsenal, who reached the Champions League semi-finals and finished second in the Premier League for a third-straight year. It was also another campaign without any major silverware, something that manager Mikel Arteta will be all too aware of.

Arsenal have already been making moves in the market as they prepare themselves for a campaign in which winning an honour will be expected of the Gunners. Arsenal’s search for a striker has been well-documented and the Gunners have been linked to Benjamin Sesko and Viktor Gyokeres, with both Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus having struggled for form last season before each picking up long-term injuries.

Now, it would seem that Arteta is also keen to reinforce the creative midfield options he has at his disposal.

AfricaFoot have stated that “an agreement has reportedly been reached” between Arsenal and the agents of Bilal El Khannouss. The attack-minded midfielder joined Leicester City last summer and was one of the few bright spots for the Foxes in what proved to be a miserable campaign for the club.

El Khannouss could not single-handedly steer Leicester away from their fate, as the club made an immediate return to the Championship. El Khannouss’ consistent form across the campaign, however, has attracted the attention of many, including Arsenal, as Arteta “believes he can become a key part” of the North London side’s midfield. Arteta has reportedly given the green light for the signing to proceed.

El Khannouss, who has been described as a “mind-blowing” player, is valued at just under £25 million by Transfermarkt. The Foxes would, presumably, want more for their star talent, but relegation will have weakened Leicester’s negotiating position. As such, Arsenal may be able to sign a brilliant player for an even better price to offer competition to the likes of captain Martin Odegaard.
