There could be outgoing movement at Nottingham Forest this summer amid Newcastle United’s attempts to sign Anthony Elanga.
Elanga is a Newcastle United transfer target, just as he was last summer too.
The Sweden international proved one of Forest’s key players last season as they sealed qualification for European football for the first time in 30 years.
The 23-year-old scored six goals while bagging 11 assists in 38 Premier League games. In fact, only Newcastle United’s Jacob Murphy (12) and Liverpool star Mohamed Salah (18) produced more assists last season.
Newcastle haven’t made a bid for Elanga yet, but Geordie Boot Boys understands he remains on the radar.
Now, an update on the Forest side of the equation has emerged.

Nottingham Forest will “doubtless” sell one of their stars this summer
According to The Daily Mail, it is now “doubtless” that one first team star at the City Ground will be sold this summer.
Newcastle’s interest in Elanga is again mentioned within the report, albeit he’s not the only player attracting admiring glances.

Teammates Morgan Gibbs-White and Murillo are also attracting interest after fine performances last season.
It’s added that Forest are in a strong position with the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR), which could make life difficult for Newcastle as they don’t need to sell.
PSR rules do not allow clubs to lose more than £105million over a three-year accounting period.
How much did Nottingham Forest pay for Anthony Elanga?
According to BBC Sport, Forest paid £15million to sign Elanga from Manchester United in 2023.
That means the City Ground club stand to make a huge profit this summer.
Geordie Boot Boys have been told that Forest value Elanga at around £60million and, given they’re in a strong PSR position, they are under very little pressure to drop that market valuation.
Elanga’s wage demands are not thought to be prohibitive for Newcastle, however. That is a boost for Eddie Howe, if the clubs can agree a fee.
Elanga has spoken to Alexander Isak about a move to Newcastle, but it remains to be seen if the Magpies can force a deal through during the transfer window.
