TBR Football can exclusively confirm that Leeds United were one of the clubs who tried to sign Bournemouth’s Max Aarons on loan.
Leeds won the Championship title last season to book their place in the Premier League this term, but they will need to strengthen their ranks considerably.
Leeds currently have Jayden Bogle and Isaac Schmidt as their main options at right-back.
However, the latter didn’t get much time in the Championship, so it remains to be seen whether he’ll be a serious Premier League option.
Meanwhile, Aarons is surplus to requirements at Bournemouth, having spent last season on loan at Spanish side Valencia.

Max Aarons snubs Leeds to agree Rangers loan deal
However, TBR Football chief correspondent Graeme Bailey can confirm that Aarons turned down the opportunity to join Leeds on loan.
Indeed, Aarons also turned down interest from fellow Premier League newcomers Burnley, along with a host of Championship sides.
Aarons has instead agreed a loan switch to Scottish Premiership side Glasgow Rangers, where he is set to become Russell Martin’s first signing at Ibrox.
Leeds were linked with Aarons in the past, with interest going back as far as 2023.

Who Leeds have signed so far this summer
While Aarons is an “outstanding” talent, it looks as though Leeds will need to look elsewhere to strengthen their full-back ranks.
With Rasmus Kristensen having swapped Leeds for Eintracht Frankfurt, the Whites will look to reinvest that money elsewhere.
So far, Leeds have struck one deal, signing forward Lukas Nmecha on a free transfer after his Wolfsburg contract expired.
The Elland Road outfit have also got a deal for Slovenian centre-back Jaka Bijol over the line, and he is expected to complete his move soon.
