Everton are in contact with Fenerbahçe midfielder Fred and his agent, but don’t want to pay a big fee for the Brazilian.
That’s according to Sabah, who say Everton are talking to the 32-year-old midfielder’s agent about a possible return to the Premier League this summer.
Reports over the last week or so have linked Everton with a move for the Fenerbahçe midfielder this summer as they look to invest in David Moyes’ squad.
Sabah reiterate that he is on their list of possible targets and they’ve been in contact with his agent to discuss a move. However, his transfer fee is likely to be a problem.
Everton don’t want to pay a high transfer fee for the former Manchester United man. Fenerbahçe, meanwhile, won’t accept a fee lower than €15m. They paid €9m to bring him to Turkey from Old Trafford in 2023.
All indications are that Everton would consider €15m as high at this moment in time. Fenerbahçe have no reason to lower their demands, though, as Fred has two years left on his current deal and that includes the option of a further year as well.
