Manchester United’s summer rebuild under Ruben Amorim is beginning to take shape as additional reinforcements are added behind the scenes.

The Red Devils have already confirmed the £62.5 million signing of Matheus Cunha, and they are making more efforts to strengthen their attack.

The 26-year-old Cunha, a quality Premier League player, was quickly recruited by United, not only because he can make things happen but also because he would surely have an instant impact on Ruben Amorim’s squad.

With 17 goals and six assists in all competitions, Cunha enjoyed an incredible season with Wolves.

Adding pace, goals and energy to a forward line that struggled for consistency the previous season has been United’s clear summer priority.

But it now seems their making their focus clear on the goalkeeper situation with a Premier League star on their radar.

According to Wayne Veysey of Football Insider, Manchester United are still pushing to agree a deal with Aston Villa over goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez sources have told them.

Sources say United have been in regular contact with the 32-year-old and are “ringing him every day” to get a deal over the line in the coming weeks.

The Red Devils are believed to be targeting Emiliano Martinez as their first-choice goalkeeper for the upcoming season, capitalising on the 31-year-old’s desire to remain in England.

Despite interest from Barcelona, Atletico Madrid, and Galatasaray, his family is apparently hesitant to move outside of the UK, which might tip the scales in United’s favour.

Since joining Aston Villa in 2020, Martinez has made a name for himself as one of the Premier League’s best players.

In his 201 games, he has had numerous outstanding performances, including winning the league’s Save of the Season award in 2023–2024.

The World Cup winner has yet to win a trophy at the club level, but he is still a symbol of composure under duress, which United badly lacked the previous season.
