Over the last few weeks, Liverpool have dominated the transfer headlines with the amount of business they’ve been doing.
The Anfield outfit have just confirmed the transfer of Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen for a club record fee of £116million, which outlines how seriously they’re taking the 2025-26 campaign.
However, with all the spending they’ve been doing over the last couple of weeks, some sales will need to be sanctioned in order for the Reds to recoup some of their money.

And, even though they’ve been busy and have improved their team massively, the rumour mill hasn’t stopped turning with Marc Guehi being the latest to be linked.
Troy Deeney believes Marc Guehi could be Liverpool’s successor for Virgil van Dijk
Jarell Quansah looks to be on his way out of Anfield after Liverpool and Bayer Leverkusen came to an agreement worth around £35million.
It was obvious that one of Quansah or Joe Gomez would be sold this summer, and it now feels unlikely to see the former Charlton man leave, especially since the Reds will only have three senior centre-backs at their disposal.
Speaking live on talkSPORT, Troy Deeney gave his thoughts on Guehi’s potential move to Liverpool and why he thinks it would be a smart move.
“I can [see Guehi as a Liverpool player], I think palace are going to lose one of them aren’t they, Guehi or Eze, whoever they decide to let go,” he said.

“I would have expected them to try and go big and keep him but maybe they cash in, I think he works great next to Virgil van Dijk, that’s a long-term succession plan for Liverpool.
“Liverpool are not messing about and I do think Liverpool have laid it down to everybody.”
Liverpool won’t do much better than Marc Guehi this summer
Since Guehi only has a year left on his deal at Selhurst Park, Crystal Palace are only asking for around £45million to acquire his services.
The Eagles turned down four bids for the centre-back last season from Newcastle, with the highest reaching £65million.
Many would consider Palace to be silly for allowing £20million to go for a season of football, but the fact they won the FA Cup shows that it was worthwhile for them to keep him on board.

At the moment, Liverpool are the most likely team to sign the Palace captain, but it feels unlikely that the former Chelsea man would come in to be a third-choice.
So, depending on what happens with Ibrahima Konate over the next couple of months, Liverpool may have to pass up on the opportunity to sign him.
However, if Guehi can hold out for two years, he could fit perfectly into Van Dijk’s place upon the expiry of his deal.
