Joleon Lescott and Shaun Wright-Phillips made a special appearance at day two of the Young Leaders Summit, joining the Young Leaders for a powerful cultural walking tour through Atlanta’s historic Sweet Auburn district.
Guided by a local ATL Cityzens supporters group member, Alfeo Dixon, the group visited key landmarks including the Martin Luther King Jr. National Historical Park and Sweet Auburn Avenue.
The walking tour inspired conversations and a moment of reflection on Black leadership, identity, and Atlanta’s proud history of social justice.
Throughout the morning, Lescott and Wright-Phillips listened closely to the stories of Young Leaders, who shared how their local experiences have shaped their passion for change through soccer.
The conversations highlighted how these experiences influence the Young Leaders and their coaching style when they use soccer to create safe, welcoming spaces for young people in their communities.
