Jorge Mendes influence in Wolves transfer detailed – Latest ‘project’ at Molineux

Jorge Mendes was involved in Fer López’s move to Wolverhampton Wanderers this week, with the 21-year-old his latest ‘project’.

That’s according to Cadena SER, who report that Wolves are being used as a ‘springboard’ by Mendes once again.

They explain that the Portuguese super-agent was heavily involved in the deal taking López to Wolves from Celta Vigo this week.

It’s not the first time the two sides have done business, with Wolves also signing Jørgen Strand Larsen from the Spanish side last summer. That was initially a loan deal that has now been made permanent.

He is also represented by Mendes, who has negotiated ‘seemingly high amounts’ for both deals. Larsen was €30m, López has been done for €23m. Getting Wolves to pay big fees for his clients is something of a speciality of his and something he has done throughout the years.

Wolves have sometimes benefitted from this, selling the likes of Matheus Cunha and Pedro Neto for profits after they impressed at Molineux. There’s also been profits in the likes of Matheus Nunes, Rubén Neves and Diogo Jota.

They will now be hoping for the same with López, who is the latest ‘project’ Mendes has put in place at Molineux in the hope of taking advantage of the ‘springboard’ they’ve offered his clients down the years.
