Austrian champions Sturm Graz are the latest club to join the hunt for Arsenal attacker Nathan Butler-Oyedeji, sources have told Football Insider.

Butler-Oyedeji, 22, is leaving Arsenal this summer when his contract expires, and a number of teams in the UK and abroad have expressed an interest in the forward.

A prolific goalscorer for Arsenal’s Under-21s last season, Butler-Oyedeji made his Champions League and Premier League debut for the club during the 2024/25 campaign.

The Gunners’ academy has created plenty of talented players, including the likes of Bukayo Saka, Ethan Nwaneri, and Myles Lewis-Skelly, but it appears that the left-winger’s future lies elsewhere.

Football Insider reported last month that FC Copenhagen were lining up a move for Butler-Oyedeji, but the transfer race looks to have taken a fresh twist this summer.

Sturm Graz to battle for Nathan Butler-Oyedeji

The Austrian Bundesliga has become a breeding ground for young talents, with the likes of Man United’s Rasmus Hoijlund, Man City’s Erling Haaland, and Leicester City’s Patson Daka making a name for themselves there, that latter duo for Red Bull Salzburg.

With the number of exciting talents coming through the academy in North London, it is no surprise to see Butler-Oyedeji looking for a new club at the end of his contract.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, academy expert Jeorge Bird tipped Max Dowman to transform Arsenal’s squad, and even alter Mikel Arteta’s transfer plans in the not-too-distant future.

Butler-Oyedeji, however, will need to prove himself elsewhere after only making two first-team appearances for the Gunners in the 2024/25 season, facing Dinamo Zagreb and Ipswich Town.

Mikel Arteta to target key signings at Arsenal this summer

With Arteta under pressure from Arsenal fans to win silverware next season, the Spaniard will be desperate to get the signings right this summer.

Football Insider understands that Benjamin Sesko and Viktor Gyokeres remain targets for the Gunners, with a striker seriously needed if the North London side are to lift a trophy.

There needs to be a balance of young, exciting talents and experienced veterans if Arsenal are to turn their battle for the Premier League title into a piece of major silverware.
