Jalen Hurts Deserves Ranking As All-Time Best Philadelphia Eagles Quarterback in Super Bowl Era

The Philadelphia Eagles have had three different quarterbacks play in the Super Bowl over the last 25 years, and multiple QBs here have made either a Pro Bowl or All-Pro team during that time.

So ...

Finding the best quarterback on the list can be tricky. A player like Donovan McNabb owns about every franchise record there is. Others like Carson Wentz and Michael Vick were one-hit wonders.

Then there's a wild card like Super Bowl LII MVP Nick Foles.

At the end of the day, though, they all pale compared to Jalen Hurts. The former second-round pick out of Oklahoma was drafted to be a backup quarterback. In three short years after that selection, he was an MVP candidate.

Hurts hasn't been nearly as dominant as Wentz or Vick over a single season. He isn't a high-volume thrower like McNabb or Foles.

What Hurts does have, though, blows the rest of the quarterbacks on this list out of the water.

And that is ...

Consistency in the win column.

Hurts is 46-20 as a starting quarterback since taking the reigns of the franchise in 2021. He is the only quarterback in franchise history to reach the Super Bowl twice while winning one. He was the best player on the field in both Super Bowl contests.

There has been a lot of talk about All-Quarter Century Teams around the league this week. If the Eagles were to have one at the quarterback position, it's pretty clear that Hurts would be at the top of that list.

And the beauty of it is as still in the early stages of his career, there can be more greatness to come.
