Eagles Represented on NFL All-Quarter Century Team

Over the last few days, much debate has followed ESPN's All Quarter Century Team list.

To join the fun, let's examine what the defending Super Bowl Champion Philadelphia Eagles would look like if we ran a similar exercise.

Since 2000, the Eagles have won two championships, been to four Super Bowls, reached the conference title game eight times, and have fielded some of the best players.

Did some of those players make our Quarter Century list? Time to find out.

QB: Jalen Hurts

Donovan McNabb or Nick Foles could be here, but no one has won like Jalen Hurts in franchise history. It really is that simple.

RB: LeSean McCoy

Saquon Barkley and Brian Westbrook have all had their moments, but McCoy was elite for a longer period and deserves to be on this list since he's the franchise's all-time leading rusher.

WR: A.J. Brown, DeVonta Smith

Alshon Jeffrey, Terrell Owens, and DeSean Jackson could all be on this list. Ultimately, the Eagles have never, and will never see a receiving duo like they have now with Brown and Smith.

TE: Zach Ertz

Fans love Brent Celek and Dallas Goedert, but Ertz is the organization's best tight end in history. His game-winning touchdown in Super Bowl LII only seals it.

OT: Jason Peters, Lane Johnson

There are plenty of elite offensive linemen in Eagles history over the last 25 years, but Peters and Johnson are easy picks for the Hall-of-Fame when both eventually retire. They belong on this list.

OG: Todd Herremans, Brandon Brooks

This was tough because Philadelphia has had some incredible guard play over the years. Ultimately, Herremans' consistency and Brooks' dominance won out.

C: Jason Kelce

There were two "no brainer" picks on this list. One of them has yet to be announced. The other is Jason Kelce. Six-time All-Pro and a future bust in Canton, Ohio.

Enough said.

EDGE: Trent Cole, Brandon Graham

How about picking the second and third players on the all-time sack list in Eagles history? Cole and Graham are beloved in the city and deservedly so.

DT: Fletcher Cox, Corey Simon

People forget how good Simon was along the interior of their defense. While Jalen Carter may be on this list eventually, Simon will share the spot with the All-Pro and borderline Hall-of-Fame star Fletcher Cox.

LB: Jeremiah Trotter, DeMeco Ryans

Trotter is an easy pick. He was an All-Pro during his time in Philly. Finding his other linebacker, though, is a bit more tricky. In the end, Ryans beats out the likes of Zack Baun and Nigel Bradham because he was a great player over a longer period...even if it was only for a few seasons.

CB: Darius Slay, Lito Sheppard

Slay will go down as one of the best corners in Eagles history because he was both a lockdown player and a ballhawk. Speaking of ballhawk's Sheppard beats out Sheldon Brown because of his game-winning pick-sixes during the 2000s.

S: Brian Dawkins, Malcolm Jenkins

Here are the no-brainers. During their win in Super Bowl LII, Jenkins was Philadelphia's heartbeat on defense. Dawkins can be seen as the greatest Eagle of all. There won't be another safety tandem like this ever again.

K: Jake Elliott

Between Elliott and David Akers, the edge has to go to Elliott. While he didn't have the best season last year, he has been one of the more clutch kickers in the sport - especially come playoff time.

P: Donnie Jones

Jones was a very good punter during the team's Super Bowl season. There aren't many others on this list to go over.

Returner: DeSean Jackson

There won't be a returner in Eagles history quite like DeSean Jackson. Jackson is Philadelphia's greatest returner from the Miracle of the Meadowlands II., or his All-Pro season in 2009.
