Nottingham Forest head coach NunoEspírito Santo**** has signed a three-year contract extension with the club that will see him stay at the City Ground until 2028.
The news comes off the back of an incredible season for Nuno and the Tricky Trees, which saw them in Champions League contention for the majority of it, before ultimately settling for a Europa Conference League place.
It will be Forest's first season playing European football in three decades, and the club’s owner, Evangelos Marinakis, has decided that the Portuguese coach is the right man to lead them in their excursion on the continent.
What has Nuno said?
Speaking to the club’s in-house media, Espírito Santo said: “I am delighted to be able to continue our journey at this fantastic football Club.
“Since we arrived at Forest, we have worked extremely hard to create a special bond between the players, the fans and everyone at the Club, which helped us achieve great things last season.
“I would like to thank our owner, Mr. Marinakis, for his constant support and backing. It is important to me to share a strong relationship with our ownership, and we have thoroughly enjoyed working together ever since I arrived at Forest.”
He signed off by saying, “Now is the time to work harder than ever as we strive for more special memories together.”
Marinakis also spoke to the club’s media about his manager and his impact on the team: “Nuno has made a great impact and performed very well during his time with us so far.
“He has demonstrated that he maximises player performance and is an expert at developing players, whilst also embedding our young talent into the first team set-up.
*“We enjoy a strong and solid relationship together and, above all, we share the same dream and ambition of writing a new history for Nottingham Forest, competing in the Premier League and in Europe and winning trophies for our great club!”*
Forest fans will no doubt rejoice in the news that they have managed to sign the 51-year-old to a long-term deal. While there were no real rumours linking him with a move away, if he were to have a good start to the Premier League season, no doubt, some of the league’s bigger clubs would have been swarming around him.
Nuno and his side will begin the 2025/26 Premier League season at home to **Brentford**in just under two months. There will be hope that he and his side can build upon their impressive campaign last season.
