Emi Martinez is trying to push through a move to Manchester United according to reports.

Aston Villa icon Martinez, 32, could depart this summer after five seasons at Villa Park. The goalkeeper appeared to bid farewell in the final home game of last season and was visibly emotional.

Martinez has been linked with Atletico Madrid, AC Milan and a switch to the Saudi Pro League but most of the noise centres around a switch to United.

The Red Devils are rebuilding their squad under Ruben Amorim this summer and various reports claim that Martinez is wanted to replace Andre Onana between the sticks.

The Sun claims Martinez is ‘desperately’ trying to force through a move to Old Trafford where he would link up with Argentina teammate Lisandro Martinez.

Villa will reportedly demand £40million for Martinez this summer, a £24m profit on what they paid Arsenal for his services in 2020.

Elsewhere, Manchester United have reportedly fielded a loan enquiry from Inter Milan for Marcus Rashford.

The striker is available for transfer after completing his loan with Villa and is widely expected to move abroad.

Barcelona have been heavily linked with Rashford but, according to the Manchester Evening News, his name came up in conversation during negotiations with Inter over Rasmus Hojlund.
