Jarell Quansah is closing in on a £35m move to Bayer Leverkusen. As reported by the ECHO on Friday, talks between Liverpool and Leverkusen have been further ongoing in recent days over a deal for Quansah.

Jonathan Tah joined Bayern Munich on a free transfer at the beginning of the month, and Quansah has been identified at the BayArena as the player to fill the void at centre-half. While Marc Guehi is admired at Anfield, Liverpool are now prioritising a young centre-back.

And below is how Liverpool supporters, commenting in the comments section of the ECHO website, have been reacting to the developments.

Reader Samsongforyou said: "If Quansah goes, I'm curious to know who we can get in at a lesser price that will be able to do the job. We were already short at CB, and now it seems like we are going to sell Quansah and Gomez."

Commenter Shandymac wrote: "There are 2 areas the squad lacks. Strength in depth at CB, and homegrown players. If he goes we have to recruit a CB, anything less will be very naive for a season with 65+ games."

Mcenroe remarked: "If Quansah goes and we sign Guehi? Now that is good business."

RobbieWilliams believes: "Not sure about this one. Quansah is still a young player learning his trade. Yes he has made mistakes, but haven't we all? Think we could possibly be letting him go too soon."

Johny Boy wrote: "A mistake to let Quansah go. He's still young, got a bit to learn but he’s not far off. Could be as good as Van Dijk in the future."

Heighwayismyhero saiud: "I'd keep Quansah, and rotate with Konate, both continuing to hone their craft with Virg. Then in the future, have Quansah and Guehi ideally, if Konate moves elsewhere."

Have your say! Does Jarell Quansah still have something to offer to Liverpool? Or is it the right time to let a talented youngster go? Comment below, and join in on the conversation.
