The European Under-19 Championships are over for Mikey Moore and Reiss-Alexander Russell-Denny after England were eliminated in the last match of the group stage on Friday night.
A 4-2 defeat to the Netherlands in Romania, coupled with Germany’s late win over Norway, sent the Young Lions home.
England, who drew 2-2 with Norway and 5-5 with Germany in their opening two matches, would have qualified for the knockout stages if the latter nations had drawn on Friday, but Germany’s stoppage-time winner sent them through in second place, while the Netherlands topped the group.
Central midfielder Reiss played the full 90 minutes against the Dutch – his second start of the tournament after **[scoring against Germany](https://www.tottenhamhotspur.com/news/2025/june/russell-denny-scores-maiden-england-goal-in-crazy-comeback/)** – and saw a late effort saved when the score was 4-1.

He missed out on the Germany clash but was named as an unused substitute against the Dutch.
