Manchester United might finally be able to hand Ruben Amorim the new star striker he so desperately craves - if Liverpool and Chelsea complete transfers.

After snapping up Matheus Cunha from Wolves, the Reds are keen to bag another forward, with Brentford's Bryan Mbeumo on the brink of becoming their second signing. There's also chatter about adding another attacking force after United posted their worst goal tally in more than half a century. And that man may be Juventus star Dusan Vlahovic.

United wrapped up the Premier League season with a -10 goal difference, with Bruno Fernandes topping their scoring list with 19. Strikers Rasmus Hojlund (10) and Joshua Zirkzee (7) didn't quite live up to the lofty expectations that come with playing at Old Trafford.

While top-notch strikers don't come cheap, it's expected that United will gift Amorim a marquee number nine to spearhead their attack next season. Ideally, either Viktor Gyokeres or Victor Osimhen would already be on board, or at least nearing a deal, reports the Manchester Evening News.

However, that hasn't panned out, and after being snubbed by Liam Delap, the search for the perfect fit continues. Moves for Gyokeres or Osimhen could still be on the cards, but other names are being thrown into the mix, some boasting Premier League experience and others with a cracking goal record.

Vlahovic is the latest target on their list, and with the Juventus ace entering his contract's final year this summer, the chance to snap him up has never been better. Despite netting 56 goals for the Old Lady, Randal Kolo Muani's permanent switch to Turin seems to be another blow for him.

Negotiations over a new deal have hit a snag due to Vlahovic's refusal to take a wage cut to stay, opening the door for United to make a move. Now, as per Italian reporter Gianluca Di Marzio, Juve are scheming a plan to replace the 25 year old, and any progress could be the go-ahead signal Jason Wilcox and Omar Berrada have been waiting for.

Di Marzio reports that 'exploratory talks' have taken place with Chelsea forward Nicolas Jackson and his team about a potential transfer. Delap's switch to Stamford Bridge and the Blues' ongoing links with Hugo Ekitike and Osimhen suggest the Senegal international is no longer off the market.

Serie A winners Napoli are also eyeing a move for Jackson, but they're believed to be focusing more on Lorenzo Lucca and Darwin Nunez. However, if Nunez departs Liverpool for Juventus or Jackson heads to Italy, it's certain that Vlahovic will be leaving the Allianz Arena, giving United the chance to finally land a new striker.
