The Miami Heat and Phoenix Suns are reportedly discussing a trade involving Kevin Durant, but the details are being worked out.
They are a long way from having anything complete, and a lot can change to create roadblocks.
According to Marc Stein, via NBACentral, the Heat aren’t budging on Kel’el Ware and don’t want to move the promising rookie to the Suns.
Does that mean the Durant deal is dead?
“Miami is said to be firmly against including standout rookie center Kel’el Ware in their offers for Durant, sources say. Without Ware in a theoretical trade, Phoenix is presumed to be seeking future first-round draft capital from Miami to help deliver Durant to South Beach at long last,” per Marc Stein.
The Miami Heat have remained firm in their stance on not including Kel’el Ware in Kevin Durant trade packages, per @TheSteinLine
If Ware is off the table, the Suns are seeking multiple first-round picks.

It sounds like there is still a chance of Durant coming to Miami, even if Ware stays put.
During his first season, Ware posted an average of 9.3 points and 7.4 rebounds on 55.4 percent from the field.
The Heat clearly sees him as someone who could be an important part of the team long into the future, and they don’t want to lose him.
But they do want Durant badly, so they will try to do whatever they can to get him.
The Suns are hoping to receive a lot in exchange for Durant.
Are multiple first-round picks good enough for them, or will they demand more from the Heat?
If they do, other teams may need to get involved to make this happen.
The Heat and Suns are talking, but they are working out the specifics of this package.
Will this be the deal that moves Durant to his next team?
