Washington Commanders: Starter Appears to Avoid Major Injury

The Washington Commanders completed mandatory minicamp Thursday of last week, wrapping up spring practices. The team is currently on a month-long break and will begin training camp in mid to late July. Rookies report to camp on July 18, while veterans report on July 22 at OrthoVirginia Training Center at Commanders Park in Ashburn, Virginia.

Noah Brown suffered a concerning injury during last Wednesday’s mandatory minicamp practice after colliding with Will Harris during 7-on-7 drills. He slammed his helmet in frustration and was carted off the field and into the locker room. Brown underwent an MRI the following day to determine the severity, but since the Commanders are in the offseason, they aren’t required to disclose the nature of the injury.

“I have no update on that, Noah is getting an MRI today this afternoon, so yeah, I don’t want to speculate,” Dan Quinn said on Thursday, via Dustin Lewis of Sports Illustrated.

According to John Keim of ESPN on Monday, the belief is that Noah Brown dodged a major injury. “I don’t believe it’s anything serious,” Keim said.

Noah Brown hosted Football Night in Mount Olive on Friday, signing autographs and taking pictures with fans. The event also featured a sports clinic for kids, giveaways, a food truck, and a dunk tank. A fan who attended the event observed that Brown looked healthy, but we won’t know for sure until training camp.
