Leeds United minority owner Larry Nance Jr has reposted a report claiming Jaka Bijol has signed his contract with the Whites.
Bijol completed a medical on Wednesday after agreeing to a move last week, and Leeds have always remained hopeful of completing the signing despite reputed interest from Newcastle United. The expectation is that an announcement will follow over the coming days once the move becomes official.
That confirmation would make Bijol the club's second signing after the unveiling of Lukas Nmecha last weekend. But before then, Nance acknowledged the latest reporting around Leeds signing the central defender.
"Jaka Bijol has signed his contract as new Leeds United player," the post on X, formerly Twitter, from Fabrizio Romano reads. "Deal sealed and here we go, confirmed."
Nance reposted that update alongside white, blue and yellow heart emojis. It is the second time he has done so with a post from the journalist this week.
In response to Romano claiming on Wednesday that a club-to-club deal was done, Nance posted the emoji with stars for eyes alongside the hashtag 'LUFC'. As reported, those claims were labelled inaccurate at the time despite an agreement seeming imminent.
Nance already appears to be a fan of the Slovenia international, as he was of Manor Solomon when Leeds signed the Tottenham Hotspur player on loan last season. His fellow Leeds investor T.J. McConnell acknowledged as much when speaking to the Israeli television channel Sport 5 in late May.
"I didn't know too much about Manor," the Indiana Pacers point guard said, "but my friend Larry Nance [Jr.], who is also a Leeds fan, told me about him and said he would be a huge boost for us. "Wow, how right he was."
