NBA insider reveals why Kevin Durant trade value has crashed

Kevin Durant's desire to control his next destination has significantly lowered his trade value, putting the Phoenix Suns in a difficult position, according to ESPN's Brian Windhorst.

Kevin Durant future is once again the topic of serious buzz around the league, but this time, the Phoenix Suns are finding themselves stuck in a tough spot.

Age: 36

Height: 211 cm

Weight: 109 kg

Birth place: Washington, United States of America

The 36-year-old superstar has made it clear he wants to control the next step in his career, and that’s made it harder for Phoenix to get real value in return.

"His trade value is depressed because he's limiting his market," ESPN’s Brian Windhorst said during Friday’s episode of NBA Today, per RealGM.

"He is effectively doing that. He made it very clear he wants to have agency on where he finishes his career. He is, by doing that, depressing the market and forcing himself to a certain spot. That has been very effective so far," he added.

Durant reportedly has only three teams on his wish list: the Houston Rockets, San Antonio Spurs, and Miami Heat.

Other potential suitors, like the Minnesota Timberwolves, don’t seem to interest him, even though they’ve reportedly made the most attractive offer from Phoenix’s perspective.

The Suns had hoped to get a deal done before the NBA Draft, but with little traction, talks may continue beyond the June 25 deadline.

Durant continues to produce at a high level, putting up 26.6 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 4.2 assists per game last season.
