Aaron Ramsdale is a wanted man after Southampton’s relegation, with Leeds United rumoured to be showing an interest.

With a deal for Jake Bijol seemingly imminent, and Lukas Nmecha already through the door, Leeds are well underway in their attempts to bolster their squad ahead of the Premier League campaign.

However, several more additions will be needed at Elland Road, including a new goalkeeper and a new number nine.

After missing out on Caoimhin Kelleher, Leeds seemingly turned their attention to Ramsdale, and a deal could start moving in the coming weeks.

Southampton prepared for Ramsdale exit

Leeds may finally be able to get their hands on Ramsdale, after Southampton chiefs confirmed that he could leave the club this summer.

Taking that into account, Paul Robinson has urged the Whites to pursue a deal and believes that the Englishman would welcome the move, despite reports claiming he would want an instant return to the Saints.

Speaking exclusively to MOT Leeds News, Robinson said: “Once he moves to Leeds, he won’t want to leave if they stay in the Premier League.

Ramsdale’s Premier League record last season.

“You look at the players that have come on loan that have had success in the Championship, Ben White, obviously, they lost him to Arsenal, but he had a great time there. You look at Joe Rodon as well, everyone who goes there enjoys the time at Leeds.

“Aaron Ramsdale’s got to say the right things because he’s a Southampton player and he’s got his contract with the club.

“I think a move for him from Leeds’ point of view would be an outstanding signing. I just think it’s a really really good fit.

“*Leeds run the risk of any newly promoted club that, if they are to recruit heavily and they are to get in these top players, they’re going to want to leave if you go into the Championship in exactly the same way that Southampton have.*“

Daniel Farke needs to make demands to 49ers

Daniel Farke will undoubtedly fail in the Premier League if Leeds fail to bring in a new goalkeeper this summer, and it could be a similar story if they fail to sign a new striker.

Deals to satisfy both areas seem to be in the pipeline, though until their name is on the dotted line, it means very little.

Leeds need to recruit well between now and the end of the summer, otherwise Farke will be at an immediate disadvantage.
