Al-Hilal have been recently competing in the FIFA Club World Cup alongside teams such as Manchester City and Chelsea.

During Hilal’s time at the competition, they have gone head to head with one team – Real Madrid. In this game, they were able to secure a 1-1 draw.

However, the Club World Cup falls at a time where all sides are looking to construct their sides ahead of the inevitable 2o25-26 season. This is no different to Al-Hilal.

However, they have difffered in their recruitment instead deciding to try and get all of their business done before the Club World Cup in order to have the best possible squad for the tournament and to give themselves the best chance of doing well in the tournament.

This recruitment included a failed attempt to try and sign Bruno Fernandes – who instead opted to stay with the Red Devils rather than move to the Middle East.

Now, it has been reported by alfredopedulla that the Saudi side have had a bid rejected for former Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay – who was sold by the Reds to Napoli last summer.

Since joining the Italian side, the midfielder has had a successful first season that saw him play a crucial role in helping Napoli win the Serie A title. Furthermore, as a result of his crucial actions, he was honoured with a shrine in Naples.

The Scottish international has also become a fan favourite in Italy for his ability to break the deadlock in games and the connection that he has established with the clubs and city.

With this bid being rejected, Hilal will now have to turn their attention away from McTominay and towards other midfield targets as they look to build a side good enough to compete at the top end of the Saudi Pro League next season.
