Manchester United are open to offers for several of their players this summer

Manchester United are open to offers for several members of their squad this summer as a limited transfer budget means Ruben Amorim will need to sanction a number of exits to be able to sign players more suited to his tactical system.

Matheus Cunha has arrived while talks continue with Brentford for Bryan Mbeumo. Christian Eriksen, Jonny Evans and Victor Lindelof have all left the club following the conclusion of their contracts.

Monaco ‘interest’ in Man Utd goalkeeper Andre Onana

According to Sky Sports, Monaco are exploring a deal for Andre Onana. The Ligue 1 outfit can offer the former Inter Milan player Champions League football next season but it is unclear if United would be able to recoup the £47.2m they spent on the goalkeeper back in 2023.

He has three years to run on his deal at the club but was guilty of several errors last season while mistakes leading to goals also marred his first campaign at Old Trafford. He has played 101 times for the Red Devils and was part of the 2024 FA Cup winning side at Wembley.

A report from the Guardian adds that Onana is not the only target for Monaco from the Premier League, with Chelsea’s Djordje Petrović shortlisted. If United’s demands are too high, Monaco could move to alternative targets.

Speaking about the player last season, Amorim said: “We need to improve. We cannot change all the players. We need to improve every position on the field. Goalkeeper is the same; we can work with André. André Onana already proved he is a top player with Inter. We have some seasons where we are [all] underperforming.”

Fabrizio Romano shares what he knows about Monaco’s interest in Andre Onana

Fabrizio Romano has shared his knowledge of the situation surrounding Monaco’s interest in Onana, and has said that there are no active discussions as things stand. Onana is also reportedly keen to stay at Old Trafford.

Romano said on his YouTube channel: “Monaco are looking for a goalkeeper, but at the moment they are not working on a deal for Andrea Onana. They have not made any approach, any bid, anything, so it's really quiet between Onana and Monaco.”

He added: “The Onana situation could be open this summer based on proposals to Manchester United, because the transfer fee is important after paying more than €50m to Inter two years ago. Also, the player wants to be satisfied, he's happy at Man United, he would be happy to stay at Man United, of course, if an important proposal arrives, that could be a different story.”
