Real Madrid, PSG Target Unwilling to Lower £200K-per-Week Wage Demand as Liverpool Worry

PSG are reportedly keeping close tabs on Ibrahima Konaté—but they’re not the only ones. Real Madrid are also said to be showing interest in the Liverpool center-back, whose contract runs through 2026. With the summer transfer window approaching, buzz around Konaté’s future is starting to build.

Milan Skriniar, currently on loan at Fenerbahçe, is expected to leave PSG permanently this summer. That’s prompted the club to begin lining up potential replacements at the back. While no move is imminent, it’s clear PSGare preparing for life after Skriniar.

Their interest in Konaté isn’t new. Back in February,Anfield Watch reported PSG had been closely monitoring the Paris-born defender, fueling talk of a potential homecoming. Having come up through Paris FC’s youth system before breaking out at RB Leipzig, Konatéis believed to be high on PSG’s shortlist heading into the window.

On Saturday,CaughtOffside reported that Liverpool are reportedly worried about history repeating itself after losing Trent Alexander-Arnold to Real Madrid on a free transfer.

According to the report, Konaté is asking for wages of around £200,000 per week, a figure the club isn’t eager to match. If no agreementis reached by the end of the summer, Liverpoolare prepared to sell the defender for a fee between €50 and €60 million.

Internally, the club has reportedly marked this summer’s transfer window as the deadline to resolve Konaté’s situation. They’d prefer to cash in now rather than risk losing him for nothing later.

MARCA recently reported that Real Madridare still targeting players whose contracts expire next season, with Konaté at the top of their wishlist for the summer of 2026.

L’Équipe reported that PSG are keeping an eye on Konaté as they search for a right-sided center back. The Liverpool defender’s namehad surfaced frequently a few months ago, but so far, no offer hasbeen submitted to the Premier League club.
