Elliot Anderson rounded off the scoring to secure England Under-21s’ place in the Euro U21s Championship semi-final with victory against Spain on Saturday night.

The Forest midfielder stepped up to convert from the spot in the final moments in Slovakia as the Young Lions recorded a 3-1 victory in the quarter finals of the competition.

Two early goals from James McAtee and Harvey Elliott put Lee Carsley’s side in the driving seat before Javi Guerra pulled a goal back from the penalty spot.

Anderson stepped up in added time to secure the win and the Young Lions’ progress.

Elsewhere Zach Abbott was a starter for England U19s as Will Antwi’s side bowed out of the Euro U19s Championship on Friday night.

The Young Lions fell to a 4-2 defeat against the Netherlands, giving Germany the chance to progress to the quarter finals with a 2-1 win over Norway.
