Raiders and North Las Vegas libraries team up for summer celebration

LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — The Las Vegas Raiders, in partnership with North Las Vegas libraries, are set to host a Raiders-themed summer celebration at Aliante Library on Saturday.

The event featured family-friendly activities, giveaways, and prizes, along with a 3D printing demonstration.

Special guest appearances were made by Las Vegas native and Raiders Defensive Tackle Jonah Laulu, as well as North Las Vegas Mayor Pamela Goynes-Brown. Both shared their summer reading lists with attendees.

Mayor Goynes-Brown says a news library card has a Raiders theme. "We work with our library, awesome board for the City of North Las Vegas, and it all starts with visions and ideas, and thoughts, and a great partnership with the Raiders organization."

She says she reads daily to one granddaughter who is one and a half, and her favorite book is Never Touch a Tiger, which has great illustrations.

Laulu says he has read about 11 books so far this year and is a fan of fantasy books like Harry Potter and The Lord of the Rings.

The event aims to inspire a love for reading among children in the community and encourage them to sign up for a free North Las Vegas Library Card.

A special edition Raiders Library Card was also available at the event, allowing families to display their support for the Silver and Black during library visits.

The celebration was open to the public and promised an opportunity to meet members of the Raiders, Mayor Goynes-Brown, the North Las Vegas Libraries teams, and several other guests.
