Chelsea will be determined to return to winning ways next week following their 3-1 defeat to Flamengo in the Club World Cup on Thursday night. The Blues will face Espérance Sportive de Tunis on Tuesday night as they look to qualify to the knockout stages.
While Enzo Maresca puts his players through their paces ahead of another difficult clash, he'll be hoping his higher-ups are working overtime to strengthen his squad. Chelsea still need to get their hands on a left winger, a goalkeeper and some backup for Marc Cucurella.
There's a lot of work to be done, but the west Londoners have plenty of time to welcome new faces to Stamford Bridge. So, with that being said, football.london has rounded up the latest Chelsea news and gossip.
Dortmund drop Gittens transfer hint
Jamie Gittens was an unused substitute in Borussia Dortmund's 4-3 win over Mamelodi Sundowns in the Club World Cup on Friday night. The 20-year-old winger has been heavily linked with a move to Chelsea this summer as Maresca looks to bolster his frontline.
football.london understands that Chelsea are preparing a fresh offer for Gittens. Despite having recently had a £42m bid rejected by the Bundesliga outfit, the Englishman remains the Blues' primary target.
It's said that the west Londoners have already verbally agreed on personal terms, with Gittens understood to be very keen on a switch to Stamford Bridge. football.london understands that talks with Dortmund are ongoing, and they want £50m for his signature.
football.london says: "As it stands, it remains to be seen exactly why Niko Kovač left Jamie Gittens out, but his omission could point towards a transfer to Chelsea. I think it's a clue. Borussia Dortmund probably want to keep him fit for a move in the coming weeks – or days!"

Chelsea enquire about Flamengo star
According to Brazilian outlet O Globo, Chelsea higher-ups closely monitored Wesley's performance during Chelsea's defeat to Flamengo, and they were thoroughly impressed. The 21-year-old right-back played a key role in the Brazilian outfit's 3-1 win over Maresca's side in the Club World Cup on Thursday night.
The report claims that the Blues enquired about Wesley's availability after the game. It's said that Flamengo have been preparing for the youngster's departure, given the 'appreciation and interest' from European clubs.
O Globo claims that Flamengo could want as much as €40m (£34m) for Wesley's signature. That said, the Brazilian outfit could reportedly settle for less depending on what proposals they receive.
football.london says: "If Chelsea sign Wesley, I think this spells the end for Malo Gusto at Stamford Bridge – unless of course the Flamengo star goes to Strasbourg."

Jackson faces uncertain future at Chelsea
According to Sky Sports journalist Giancluca Di Marzio, Nicolas Jackson could leave Chelsea this summer, with Juventus and Napoli both said to be interested. The report claims that the Old Lady have already enjoyed exploratory talks while Antonio Conte's side having made enquires.
It's said Napoli are informed about the situation, they're currently focused on wrapping up deals for Darwin Nunez and Lorenzo Lucca. Jackson sees his contract at Stamford Bridge expire in June 2033.
football.london says: "As frustrating as Nicolas Jackson's red card vs Flamengo was, I don't think that means he should leave or wants to leave. It was just reckless, again – just like against Newcastle United towards the end of the season.
"I want to see how he copes with the strong competition from Liam Delap. He could prove a lot of people wrong. That said, if a good offer comes in then Enzo Maresca will be forced to make a tough call..."
