All the latest news and transfer rumours surrounding Chelsea as they look to move on from their defeat to Flamengo.

Chelsea are now looking ahead to their final FIFA Club World Cup group stage clash on Wednesday after suffering defeat on Friday night. The Blues must get a result against ED Tunis to progress to the knockout stage of the competition.

In the meantime, the club’s recruitment chiefs will be working on deals under the knowledge of what Enzo Maresca wants, and we know he will want a winger, centre-back and goalkeeper, while another striker could also be on the cards. Here we round up all the latest news and transfer rumours surrounding Stamford Bridge.

Jackson ‘interest’

Nicolas Jackson is now being linked with a move away from Chelsea after his second red card in a matter of weeks. Jackson was sent off for a silly red card against Flamengo, leaving his teammates short for much of the second half. Flamengo and former Chelsea midfielder Jorginho said after the game: “Jackson is so good and he is young and he has the quality the club needs,. He will surpass this little mistake. I think the red was clear, but it is just a small detail for a big player, and he can be one of the biggest strikers in the world.”

Chelsea boss Maresca said: “It happened against Newcastle and today. I am not 100% sure it’s a red card compared to the Newcastle one. It’s a little bit of a bad moment for Nico. Six minutes changed the game. In the second half, we started better compared to the first half. But we conceded two goals in two minutes and then the red card. It changed the dynamic. They deserved to win.”

Since then, Gianluca di Marzio has reported that Juventus and Napoli have held ‘exploratory talks’ with Chelsea over the signing of Jackson, likely sensing an opportunity. But the Blues are, of course, unlikely to sell.

Murillo links

Chelsea are being linked with a move for Nottingham Forest defender Murillo. The centre-back was one of Forest’s best players in an impressive season of last, and it’s no surprise that he is attracting interest this summer.

The Blues have been linked with centre-backs aplenty this summer, and they are all-but sure to find one, but they are not yet close to pulling off a deal. football.london are now reporting that Murillo is an option, but reports elsewhere have suggested he could cost as much as £80million, which would be a problem.

Caicedo on surprise defeat

Chelsea midfielder Moises Caicedo spoke after the Flamengo defeat. He told the Blues’ website: “You need to be focused for the full game because one second you switch off, then that’s what can happen. We need to react. We are now focused on the next game. It will be a tough game, but we will prepare from tomorrow.”

The midfielder added: “In the second half, they were better, they pressed better and we found some space, but for sure it was complicated The team was playing well, but you need to be focused for 95 minutes. Otherwise, in one second, you can lose the game. That is what happened. It was a difficult game, but we are focused on the next game and we need to win the next game [to make sure we go through]. But today was tough.”
