Alejandro Garnacho has told his agent he would prefer to stay in the Premier League when he leaves Man United, according to their former chief scout.
Mick Brown, who worked at Old Trafford for over a decade during the club’s most successful period and remains very well-connected there, exclusively told Football Insider that the 20-year-old is settled in England and wants to play at the highest level.
Multiple English clubs including Chelsea, Tottenham and Aston Villa have been keeping a close eye on his situation and could make a move when the window opens.
This comes after Football Insider revealed on 19 June that Man United are hoping for a bidding war so that they can drive up the price for the wantaway winger.
Sources say United will start the bidding at around £50million as they plan to move him on quickly after his public falling-out with Ruben Amorim.
Brown told Football Insider in May that Chelsea are plotting a fresh move for Garnacho, with United and Amorim ready to let him go.

Alejandro Garnacho edges closer to Man United exit
Brown told Football Insider on 14 June that Garnacho is interested in remaining in the Premier League and is keeping his options open amid growing interest.
The former scout, who has a wealth of experience in top-level player recruitment and also worked for the likes of West Ham, Tottenham and Aston Villa, has explained that the winger will be in conversations with his agent to find the best deal.
“There are a lot of moving parts at Man United,” he told Football Insider.
“Some incoming deals will allow other players to leave and vice versa.
“There’s been a lot of talk about Garnacho and where he might end up, he’s spoken to his people, his agent, and he wants to stay in the Premier League.
“I can understand that, he’s settled here and he wants to play at the highest level.
“I disagree with the way it’s been done publicly, you don’t have to broadcast these things.
“United have been finding out whether there’s a market for him, and there are a few clubs interested.
“They want to get whatever the best deal is for the club financially of course, and Garnacho and his agent will be looking for one that works for them.
“But the player has been alienated and he will leave this summer, they don’t know his exact destination but he would like it to be in England.
“His options are still very much open at the moment.”

Mason Mount update emerges amid Aston Villa interest
Another player who could be on his way out of Old Trafford this summer is Mason Mount, after another frustrating season since his arrival from Chelsea.
Brown told Football Insider on 20 June that Aston Villa want to sign Mount and are keeping a close eye on his situation in case he is allowed to leave.
Having got back to full fitness at United, Villa are hopeful they could help him to rediscover the form he showed during his time at Chelsea.
This comes after Football Insider exclusively revealed on 17 June that Man United will accept offers for Mount following the arrival of Matheus Cunha.
