Slovenian point guard retired recently, and in an interview for Mozzart Sport's NBA Out of Bounds Podcast, Dragic talked about Partizan Mozzart Bet Belgrade and why he didn't join them after NBA experience:
"I talked with Partizan, you can't lie to fans and coaches and come to play on one leg. They contacted me and I was honest. I simply couldn't play on that level due to my knee, and my kids are living in Miami," Dragic started.
"I didn't even think about that direction but if I was healthy I'd love it for sure. Partizan is my club I always supported them and that would be very nice to play for them."
Dragic also talked about his retirement, and how he had to step aside from basketball, not on his own terms:
"There was a chance to continue in my head, if I'm honest I'd love to play for 20 more years, but it's not possible. I have problems with my knee and doctor told me if I still want to run with my kids I need to stop playing basketball."
"I didn't finish my career on my own terms, I was forced to do it, and that was tough. I needed to stop and that's it. I wanted to return to Europe, play a season or two there, but it couldn't happen," Dragic concluded.
