Liverpool have been linked with a move for Newcastle United talisman Alexander Isak.
Liverpool are reportedly unlikely to strike a deal for Newcastle United sensation Alexander Isak this summer.
Speculation surrounded the Swede all season as Newcastle stormed to Carabao Cup success and Champions League qualification. Isak netted 27 goals - his highest in professional football - to put himself among the world’s best strikers.
Toon chiefs stumped up a club-record £63million to sign the 25-year-old three years ago and he has been the goal machine of the Saudi-backed revolution. With three years on his contract and no release clause, the Magpies are in a strong negotiating position should potential suitors come calling.
Liverpool speculation
Newcastle value Isak above £150million - a figure that would break the British transfer record. United may hold the power but that has not stopped national outlets from linking their talisman with a possible move.
Recent days have seen talkSPORT and GiveMeSport journalist Ben Jacobs ramp up the noise about a possible Liverpool move. That is despite the Reds forking out a staggering £115million to sign Bayer Leverkusen sensation Florian Wirtz.
Fabrizio Romano on Alexander Isak
NewcastleWorld has always maintained that the Magpies are calm over Isak’s future and the player is happy on Tyneside. Italian sports journalist Fabrizio Romano has also suggested Liverpool find any deal "difficult" to do.
“Liverpool would try to go for Isak (if he became available) but at the moment I don’t have this feeling,” he told GiveMeSport. “The club too, from what I’m hearing, see it as a very, very difficult deal.”

“It’s been written how much I love the city and the club, how well I feel there. I’m not thinking about the future. I just want to perform for Newcastle. Now we won the cup, but we want to finish strong and reach the Champions League games. That’s where my focus lies.”
