Everton are ready to seal a big-money deal for Aleksandar Mitrovic.

David Moyes is desperate for attacking reinforcements after his side ranked as the fourth-lowest scorers in the Premier League last season.

The uncertainty surrounding the futures of Dominic Calvert-Lewin, who is out of contract, and Beto, who is attracting interest from Leeds, only serves to increase the need to sign a forward before the new campaign.

Friedkins ready £38.5m deal for Mitrovic at Everton

The Friedkin Group will back Moyes this summer, and they could be set to sanction a swoop for Mitrovic.

A report from La Gazzetta Dello Sport (22 June, page 14) claims that the Blues are ready to bid up to £38.5million to sign the former Fulham man.

Mitrovic would be a great signing for Everton

Calvert-Lewin and Beto notched just 11 goals between them in the league for the Toffees last season, and Mitrovic would be a clear upgrade on those options.

He scored 38 goals and bagged 11 assists in 129 appearances for the Cottagers before moving to Saudi Arabia in 2023.

Mitrovic notched 14 strikes in his last season in the English top-flight and has continued that impressive form in his new surroundings.

The veteran has a record of 68 goals in 79 games for the Saudi Pro League team and it may be the perfect time to return to England before he gets too old to be considered for a transfer.

He would fit in at Everton, as he is a Richarlison-type player, who supporters love and rival fans and opposition defenders cannot stand.

Moyes may be able to get the best out of the Serbian star, who was a handful for defenders before he departed, and if he is willing to take a pay cut, then the deal is a no-brainer for the Blues.

It would be the perfect marquee addition for the new owners to start the new era at the Hill Dickinson Stadium and would likely get supporters excited for what else is set to come.
