Idrissa Gana Gueye could be set to leave Everton this summer as a number of Ligue 1 sides have lined up contract offers to snap him up.
That is according to former Man United and West Ham scout Mick Brown, who remains very well-connected within the game, as he exclusively told Football Insider that clubs are confident they can tempt the 35-year-old back to France.
The midfielder’s current contract at Goodison Park is set to expire at the end of the month and talks over a new deal have not progressed as hoped.
Football Insider revealed in May that Gueye’s future at Everton is still uncertain although David Moyes is keen for him to stay as a key part of his squad.
Ahead of their move to the newly-built Hill Dickinson Stadium, Moyes’ side are set to go through a transitional period with a number of first-team stars to leave.
Abdoulaye Doucoure is in a similar position to Gueye, with uncertainty over his contract situation leading to increased speculation over his future.

Everton line up midfield signings after Idrissa Gueye latest
Football Insider revealed on 3 June that Everton want to sign new midfielders this summer after they completed a £12.6million deal to sign Charly Alcaraz.
Brown, who has a wealth of experience in top-level player recruitment after over a decade at Man United during their most successful period and worked closely with Moyes at West Ham, insisted Gueye’s exit will pave the way for more incoming deals.
“Idrissa Gueye could be leaving Everton,” he told Football Insider.
“A few teams in France have been interested in him and will make offers to him.
“They’ll have been speaking to his agent to figure out whether he wants to move.
“I think a move back to France is something he will be interested in because he was over there for a while before he came to Everton.
“It won’t be an easy decision because from what I hear he’s enjoyed his time at Everton.
“But sometimes it gets to a stage where it’s just a natural parting.
“He’s been a good player and he’s one Moysey values for his experience and talent in midfield.
“So if he’s going to move on, they’re going to want to bring somebody in to replace him both in terms of quality and leadership skills.
“That will add to the list of question marks and holes to be filled at Everton.”
