It has been well reported that Ruben Amorim is looking to sign both a new striker to replace the out of form Rasmus Hojlund and also a goalkeeper in an attempt to be less mistake prone in 2025/26.
An obstacle in Amorim’s way is Manchester United’s ongoing finance issues.
Since Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s arrival at Manchester United, the clubs finances have been in the spotlight.
Manchester United’s new owner has began to make several members of staff redundant throughout the club in order to cut costs and relieve United of their debts.
Even legendary manager Sir Alex Ferguson has been axed by INEOS.
As well as cutting staff, Manchester United have been hoping to bring in a significant amount of income from player sales in this summer’s window.
Numerous Manchester United players are out of favour with new boss Ruben Amorim for several reasons.
Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho are the more notable players to be out of the boss’ squad, both were surprisingly left out of the Manchester derby back in December.
Amorim said both players attitudes needed to improve.
However it has been evident across the season that neither player has impressed Amorim and both are expected to be shown the door.
Brazilian winger Antony was sent out on loan and found his form once again in Spain with Real Betis but is likely to leave Old Trafford this summer.
Following a spell on loan at Chelsea, Jadon Sancho is another player whose United career is well and truly over.

Following a dispute with Erik Ten Hag in 2023/24, the English trickster was banished from United’s squad and found himself back at his former side Dortmund on loan.
At the beginning of the 2024/25 season, Sancho joined Chelsea on loan and was set to join the London club permanently at the beginning of this summer’s window.
However, Jadon Sancho decided to turn down Chelsea’s contract offer, as the winger was not willing to lower his wages. Ruben Amorim is not expected to welcome Sancho into his squad with open arms and is also looking to off load the player.
According to Yagiz Sabuncuoglu, former Manchester United manager, Jose Mourinho, has expressed his interest in Sancho and his Turkish side, Fenerbahce, have asked about Jadon Sancho’s conditions.
Although this will be positive news in United’s efforts to off load the winger, it is still down to Jadon Sancho to decide if he is willing to take a wage cut from his substantial Manchester United contract.
Ruben Amorim and Manchester United fans will be hoping several players, including Sancho, will depart Old Trafford this summer to pave the way for new and exciting additions.
