Jose Mourinho begins talks with agent of £6.5m Nottingham Forest player, he wants him on loan - …

Nottingham Forest are hoping to reshuffle their squad this summer, and business will be done in terms of incoming and outgoing deals.

The Reds need to make sure the squad is well-stocked with the UEFA Conference League on the agenda for next season after a seventh-place finish in the Premier League during 2024/25.

Forest must make sure that they’re adding quality over quantity, but there will be a number of players who are made surplus to requirements by Nuno Espirito Santo in the coming weeks.

Igor Jesus is joining Forest from Botafogo for around £17 million, and Espirito Santo is definitely hoping to strengthen the squad further before a ball is kicked in the new Premier League campaign.

Jose Mourinho wants Nottingham Forest player at Fenerbahce

According to transfer journalist Sebastien Vidal, Mourinho is keen to take Jota Silva to Fenerbahce this month, with the Turkish outfit already upping the ante in the quest to land him by speaking to the player’s agent.

Silva was often considered the first attacking option from the substitute’s bench last season, and overall, he did alright considering it was his first season playing in a league as demanding as the Premier League.

Silva scored five goals and claimed three assists from his 38 appearances in all competitions, but started just five matches in the league, which won’t be considered enough in his eyes.

Fenerbahce want to take Silva on loan with an option to buy him next summer for a fee which is yet to be agreed.

Silva only cost £6.5 million last summer from Vitoria in Portugal, and the hope would be from a Forest perspective that they would at least recoup what they paid for the 25-year-old.

Forest should cash in on Silva this summer

At 25, there is still some time on the side of Silva, but Forest do need quality not just on the pitch but from the bench too, with the Portuguese performer perhaps just coming up short last season.

Silva was okay when called upon from the bench, but he never really filled fans with too much confidence if asked to start the game at the expense of Callum Hudson-Odoi or Anthony Elanga.

Forest will need more options for their European campaign, but if a replacement can be sought out wide for Silva, a departure perhaps wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world this summer.
