Chelsea have approached Paris Saint-Germain regarding the acquisition of French striker Randal Kolo Muani. This will seriously undermine Juventus’ efforts to hold onto the player.
The Blues are in the market for a new striker and believe Kolo Muani is a high-potential addition to Enzo Maresca’s attack. Kolo Muani, currently loaned to Juventus, has made Turin his home with eight goals in only sixteen Serie A matches.
His goal tally has increased significantly in recent weeks, highlighted by a double in Juventus’ recent 5-0 win over FIFA Club World Cup competitors Al-Ain. The surge from the 26-year-old star has encouraged Juventus to pursue a second loan deal with the option to buy, according to club officials.
Putting it in his own words, as he did after his impressive World Cup performance, Kolo Muani was insistent:
“Honestly, I feel very good here … I can play well and score goals. I am happy, I hope to stay.”
Juventus is taking those words very seriously and making significant overtures to PSG. They hope to agree on a planned loan deal with a realistic option to buy.
Chelsea Want to Sign Another Striker
However, Chelsea’s last-minute interest disrupts all of this. The Premier League club have already begun tracking some of their forward targets this summer. This includes Hugo Ekitike, who currently plays for Eintracht Frankfurt.
Squad depth has become a priority, and Maresca is attempting to introduce more aggression in the attacking third. Kolo Muani is an intriguing signing who could play through the center or on the wing.
PSG are also reportedly interested in arranging a loan deal but only on a permanent sale if favorable conditions are met. The Blues’ finances and requirement for front-line cover make them prime contenders. However, persuading the forward to leave a lucrative stint at Juventus will be an uphill task.
