Paul Pogba has been spotted training alongside Manchester United duo Kobbie Mainoo and Leny Yoro, as speculation continues to increase regarding his future.
Reports suggested earlier this month that Monaco are in advanced talks to sign Pogba as a free agent. It was reported that the 32-year-old has been offered a two-year contract with the Ligue 1 club.
Discussions over a potential move are ongoing, as he eyes a return to football - almost two years since his last appearance. Pogba has been without a club since last November after Juventus terminated his contract.
He has not played a competitive minute of first-team football since August 2023 after failing a doping test. Pogba was subsequently handed a four-year ban which looked like it would end his professional playing career.
However, following an appeal, the ban was reduced to 18 months, meaning he was free to resume training in January and make his return to competitive action in March. Pogba has since been linked with a third return to United and a move to Saudi Arabia or France, but he is still a free agent and looking for his next club.
In the meantime, Pogba appears to be working hard in preparation for pre-season. Posting on his Instagram story, Pogba uploaded an image of him alongside United stars Yoro and Mainoo. The trio were captured right next to a running track, having completed a difficult-looking training session in the heat.
Pogba's last professional appearance came while playing for Juventus against Empoli in August 2023. Should a move to Monaco go through, he could make his return to action in the coming weeks.
While Monaco are leading the race, Saudi Pro League side Al-Ittihad are attempting to hijack the deal. According to Foot Mercato, initial discussions have taken place with Pogba exploring all possibilities.
A move to the Saudi side would see him reunite with international teammates N’Golo Kante and Karim Benzema. Former France boss Laurent Blanc is also the head coach of the club, having joined last summer.
Across the last week, Pogba has shared further updates of him training, with the ex-United midfielder spotted alongside former teammates Marcos Rojo, Edinson Cavani, Sergio Romero and Ander Herrera in the United States. The aforementioned quarter now play for Argentine side Boca Juniors.
Pogba also shared a hint that he could be closer to a return to football, posting a video at Miami Hurricanes training ground with a message reading: "Here I come."
