Everton’s 13th-placed finish in the Premier League last season would have surprised many when David Moyes first took over as manager.
When the Scotsman returned to Goodison Park in the new year, the Toffees sat just one point above the relegation zone.
Having completely turned things around on Merseyside, Moyes is hoping for a successful summer transfer window.
There is plenty of work to be done, but working under the Friedkin Group, the manager is looking to be ambitious in his aims for next term.

Everton can keep climbing under Moyes
Although Everton started the season sitting far too close to the bottom of the table, it was certainly a Premier League that showed that anyone can compete.
MORE TOFFEES STORIES
Nottingham Forest finished the 2023/24 season sitting 17th in the Premier League table, and last season, Nuno Espirito Santo led his side to a seventh-place finish.
Season Position Goal Difference Points
2024/25 7th 12 65
2023/24 17th -18 32
Everton will want to rise up the table like Nottingham Forest did.
In the end, it was a slightly disappointing finish to the campaign for Forest as they missed out on Champions League football despite having occupied second place in the table earlier in the year.
Moyes may just be thinking about building upon the progress his side made in the second half of the campaign, but the Blues could have all they need in place for a similar finish.
When asked by talkSPORT (22 June) who would finish next season sitting seventh in the league, Rory Jennings replied: “This is going to sound slightly wild, but there is an unpredictable quality in this Everton team going into the new season.
“Nobody knows what they’re going to be like in this new ground. If they can use and galvanise the new stadium to the best of their ability, if they can get the atmosphere to mimic what they had at the Gwladys Street, there is a chance that Everton are going to finish in seventh spot.”

Everton must go all out next season
There is plenty of work for Everton to do this summer, and the Toffees must be shrewd in their business to maximise the number of additions they can get through the door.
Moyes has a fairly solid profile of players he is looking at, with the need to lower the average age of the squad very much felt in Merseyside.
However, there is likely to be space for some more experienced heads in certain positions, with Kyle Walker and Jamie Vardy linked with moves to Bramley-Moore Dock this summer.
The ambition from Moyes is clear with the likes of Nick Woltemade on the list of targets, too, and there is plenty to be excited about.
Forest have shown how easily the right recruitment can lead to a climb in the table, and the Blues should use this as motivation to push themselves on.
